Over the course of many years of coaching and facilitation work and conversations, my colleague Helen Zink and I have identified 11 Leadership Coaching Superpowers – qualities and behaviours that support leaders in navigating complexity with greater clarity, curiosity, and care.

What we’ve discovered is that many leaders lean on a few familiar behaviours, often without realising what else is available to them. Some superpowers come naturally, while others require conscious effort. But all of them can be developed and applied in ways that support your team, your context, and the challenges at hand.

Coaching – and these superpowers aren’t about having all the answers. They’re about listening well, asking curious questions, and creating space for meaningful conversations.

To help you explore these ideas, we’ve created a complimentary Leadership Coaching Superpowers Guide.

Inside the guide, you’ll find:

  • A more detailed overview of the 11 superpowers and a handy infographic
  • Reflection prompts to identify which superpowers you naturally use and which you might need to activate
  • Thought starters for bringing a coaching mindset into your leadership and conversations with your teams

Keen to explore the superpowers?

If this sounds like something that could support your leadership or your team’s development, we’d be happy to send you the guide – it’s available to good homes.

We’re offering this opportunity to those who are ready to explore new ways of leading and are genuinely interested.

If you’d like to take it a step further, we also coach leaders and teams using these superpowers as a framework. If that sounds useful, we’d be delighted to have a conversation.
