What constitutes different?
When you delve deep into what some people’s points of difference are, you may notice there’s actually very little difference at all.
My personal point of difference
When it comes to Maverick Minds, I’m my own point of difference.
I’m Australia’s first certified creativity coach with the Creativity Coaching Association (CCA), I’m an Accredited Team Management Systems (TMS) Team Management Profiles (TMP), Linking Leadership (LLP) and Opportunities and Obstacles QO2 facilitator. I’m an accredited Senior Practitioner coach with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). I hold a Practice-Led Research Doctorate in Creative Industries and have created an Artful Inquiry methodology to help leaders and managers in organisations take everyday business practices and begin to apply creative thinking. And that’s just for starters…
“I have been using Cathryn as an executive coach for many years. The benefit and value that I get from her coaching is her creative mind-set and her ability to take a completely different perspective on issues. She is open and curious and consistently prompts me with left-field questions that make me think differently. Her arts-based and aesthetic approach has been structured so that we work through particular topics including leadership, creativity and stress management but is flexible enough to deal with particular issues as they arise. I have found her highly engaging and our sessions thought-provoking and enriching ”
A different methodology
My accreditations and qualifications have enabled me to create my own unique artful approach to delivering coaching and facilitated workshop services. I call this approach my ‘Artful Inquiry’ methodology.
Through Artful Inquiry, I help businesses take everyday organisational practices and begin to apply creative thinking and ways of being. Professional artistry and creative management and leadership skills are developed. Creative and curious minds are sparked, inspiration and motivation are enhanced, engagement increases, and innovation becomes possible. All of this leads to improved employee interactions and wellbeing.
To successfully navigate change, leaders and managers need to broaden their leadership approach. A thinking systems mindset and psychologically safe environment sets the scene for learning, innovation, and growth. Creativity, courage, flexibility, empathy, curiosity, and a willingness to experiment are qualities that sets leaders apart. My approach sees me working with people in co-creative ways to establish ways of working that are beneficial for everyone involved. These two-way co-creative spaces enable people to stretch their thinking and build human connection. By taking an alternative organisational development path, through exposure to artful and aesthetic provocations, a different leadership and management culture can evolve. It’s a path that has worked for Maverick Minds clients and can work for you too.
