Last month, we held our mid-year Unwrap: Your Year in Motion, an online session designed to offer something that we often need to create space for – the chance to pause, take a breath, step out of the busyness, and gently consider:
Where am I now, after this year? And what’s shifting in me, or around me?
The Unwrap sessions are one of my favourites to run, partly because I get to collaborate with Leonie Cutts. After a bit of time reviewing their year through images, we invited participants to engage in a simple yet powerful prompt using the digital version of our Shift Your Thinking cards.
The invitation:
“Imagine it’s New Year’s Eve and a postcard arrives, sent by you, to you. What image is on the front? And what message does it carry about the year that’s been?”

There was no pressure to come up with the perfect note. Just time to reflect, to let thoughts and feelings settle, and to see what surfaced. As people selected their image and wrote their message, there was a profound shift toward an appreciation of what has been over the past few months.
It’s through these small shifts that perspective grows. In looking back without judgment, we make space for the full spectrum of the year – the hard parts, the progress, the surprises, the things we didn’t expect to carry or celebrate.
This session wasn’t about goal-setting or resolutions. It was about reconnecting with what matters – perspective and presence.
The Shift Your Thinking digital cards were a gentle yet incredibly effective guide throughout. They offered an accessible way in, especially for people who didn’t know quite what they wanted to say, but found the image said it for them.
Here’s how Jennifer described her experience –
“Unwrap Your Year in Motion was a beautiful pause – a chance to reflect with purpose and clarity. The stunning collage cards designed by Dr Cathryn Lloyd sparked rich, meaningful conversations. With both Cathryn’s and Leonie Cutts’ gentle facilitation, the small group format made it a very personal and unexpectedly powerful online experience.”

And this from Rosie:
“I loved the changing formats of the session, loved the size of the group, loved how each of you joined a breakout room. Also loved how you both seamlessly flowed from one to the other throughout the session. From my perspective, I don’t think anything could have been different
