In April, I was pleased to be interviewed by The Education View, an online magazine focused on improving education, sharing innovative ideas and fostering a culture of diversity, innovation, and lifelong learning.
Contributing to the March edition was a meaningful way for me to connect with a wider audience and share the power of integrating creativity into professional development.
The resulting article, “Empowering Individuals and Teams Through Coaching & Creativity,” allowed me to share insights from my work and discuss the importance of creative thinking in both coaching and facilitation. I also highlighted why creativity is essential for innovation and navigating uncertain or complex situations.
Creativity is fundamentally linked to innovation, as it is the driving force behind the development of new ideas and solutions. When faced with uncertainty and complexity, creativity allows individuals and organisations to think outside traditional boundaries, encouraging them to explore novel approaches and perspectives.
Creative thinking fosters adaptability, enabling teams to respond effectively to challenges and seize emerging opportunities. By embracing creativity, organisations can challenge the status quo and develop groundbreaking products, services, and processes that stand out in the marketplace.
Moreover, creativity empowers problem-solving by inspiring divergent thinking – considering multiple possible solutions, especially in complex situations where straightforward answers may not exist and while it may a quick fix is not lasting. Through creative exploration, individuals can identify unique expression, pathways and strategies, ultimately enhancing their resilience and capacity for growth. Contributing to The Education View was a valuable opportunity to consider how coaching and creativity work together to help individuals and teams become more adaptable and effective.
