A highlight has been attending the Applied Improvisational Conference at the Alan Alda Center for Communication at Stony Brook University Long Island.

I was delighted to see the legendary Alan Alda aka Hawkeye from M*A*S*H interviewed by writer and educator Aretha Sills.  Alan Alda is one of the great acting improvisors as well as having a deep love and respect for science.  I’ve been enjoying his book ‘If I understood you, would I have that look on my face?”  It’s well worth reading.

I attended some great workshops as well as spontaneously facilitating one with Erica Marx in the open space session.

Applied Improvisation is a dynamic and creative way to facilitate workshops.  The tools, methods and activities are beneficial for personal development, team building, creativity, innovation and wellbeing.

I’m excited to include these creative practices into the upcoming Maverick Minds workshops in 2020.

The Australian Facilitators Network

I was fortunate to work with a highly committed group who brought the Australian Facilitators Network conference to life in Brisbane.

I had the privilege of introducing and spending time with Songwoman Maroochy Barambah who conducted our Welcome to Country. I can thoroughly recommend Songwoman Maroochy.

The theme ‘What the World Needs Now’ focused on the Contribution and Value of Facilitation.  Andrew Rixon and I facilitated Cooking with Stories the power of stories in facilitation.
